12 Weeks

So I started out doing these posts on Friday's because that's when my week "switched over". Now they switch over on Monday's. Which I know is not a big deal and it doesn't matter if I do these posts on Friday's or Monday's but everything is a big deal to me right now so yeah. So today I chose today & I guess I'll answer with last weeks feelings? See? So confusing. Let me give it a try.

Weeks: 12 Weeks

Baby: Is as big as a large plum, 2.5 om & .5 oz.

Total weight gain: I don't think I've gained any. I don't weigh myself at home really and my next dr's appointment is still like 3 weeks away.

Maternity clothes? Nope.

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: Eh. It's not like it used to be, but it could be worse.

Favorite moment of the week: On Saturday we (i.e. Sean although I helped a teeny, tiny bit) put the crib together! It might seem early to some but we picked out what we wanted early on & my mom wanted to get it for us because she is the best. Besides, I like to be ahead of schedule.

Miss anything? Cokes. I know I could have one. But I'm trying to be good. But I do miss them.

Movement: Nope.

Cravings? No cravings really. But I am slowly coming back around to food so that's a plus.

Anything make you queasy or sick? I have to make sure to eat pretty regularly (like every hour basically) & especially to make sure there's protein in what I'm eating or I get sick easily. I also can't get too hot which has made cooking difficult cause I can't really stand in front of the stove.

Gender prediction: Last night I dreamed we found out it was a boy at our next appointment lol but I'm not claiming to have psychic dreams. In fact, I've read if you dream it's a boy then it'll be a girl. But that's an old wives tale and I can't put a lot of stock in it.

Labor signs: Nope!

Symptoms: Still some yucky "morning" sickness but I feel like it's getting better.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Mood: This week was a blah week. I had a stomach virus. And then one night Sean & I watched a super sad episode of How I Met Your Mother which in turn made me cry for like 20 minutes. So yeah, there's that. Hopefully this week will be better.

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender still! I know this was last week's too but I'm very excited about it y'all. We made our appointment for May 4th so I need this next month to FLY by.

Freak-out moment of the week: I can't think of a freak out. But the tv induced cry session could probably fit here.

Thankful for: I keep telling myself to be thankful for even my sick days because I think I would definitely be freaking out more if nothing felt different. I'm growing a person in me, it's kind of a big deal! I'm going to have yucky feeling days but at least I know that each yucky day is one day closer to meeting our sweet baby :)

10 Weeks

Weeks: 10 weeks 4 days

Baby: Is as big as a prune right now, 1.5 inches long!

Total weight gain: 1 pound lol but I may have just ate a big lunch before.

Maternity clothes? Nope.

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: Sleep really just depends. Sometimes I sleep great, other times not so much. I also wake up several times to go to the bathroom & keep having nightmares, so that's fun.

Favorite moment of the week: Last night I went to LR to do a paint class with my friends from college! Some of them I haven't seen in over a year so that was so much fun! A close second is the scavenger hunt we did at youth on Wednesday.

Miss anything? I miss naps under my desk. I can't really sleep much on my lunch break anymore. I try but it just doesn't wanna happen.

Movement: I can't feel any BUT we did get to see the baby move during our ultra sound yesterday so that was super cool.

Cravings? Still no cravings really. Sadly, I can't even think about food all that much without feeling sick.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Still smells. They are still winning as the worst thing right now.

Gender prediction: Still no predictions from me lol although baby's heart rate was 169 so that had me hopeful for a girl, until my sister told me Evan's heart rate was 168 around the same time lol

Labor signs: Nope!

Symptoms: This is also still the same, I get tired easily and I'm nauseous every day. Length of day varies sometimes it's just when I wake up, sometimes it's all day. Not to jinx myself or anything but I do feel like maybe, hopefully, please please please, that it is starting to subside just a little.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Mood: This was a pretty good week! The only thing that could have made it better is if Tech workers also got a spring break. I would have LOVED the week at home.

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender! Because they upped my timeline at this appointment (only by like 4 days but still ;) ) I've convinced myself that it will be here before I know it.

Freak-out moment of the week: No freak outs this week that pop into my head lol

Thankful for: Not to be cheesy but just that we get to experience this! This wasn't something we were just like yeah maybe lets have a baby. We thought and prayed about it for awhile before deciding we were ready and then we still had time to pray about it before it happened. I'm just thankful for answered prayers :)

Baby Bennett- 8 Weeks

So it's safe to say my sweet book blog has fallen by the wayside. Sad day. I still read, I just don't ever want to write about what I read lol. Maybe I will again someday. For now, its time to turn this blog into a baby blog :)

My friend Jessica did a weekly post with the same questions during her pregnancy and I think it's such a fun way to look back on your pregnancy and remember the little things that happened from week to week that you might not remember otherwise. So here we go :)

Weeks: 8

Baby: As big as a raspberry right now, only .5 inches long!

Total weight gain: None so far. Went to the Dr. for the first time last week and measuring the same as before.

Maternity clothes? Nope.

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: The past few nights have been ROUGH and it makes me so sad because I love my sleep. Maybe it'll get better & at least I can still nap under my desk at lunch :)

Favorite moment of the week: We finally announced to all of social media about Baby Bennett on Tuesday which was also our 3 year anniversary. It was a good day :)

Miss anything? Not really. Maybe cokes.

Movement: Does a rolling stomach count? lol

Cravings? Really haven't had any cravings or anything I just felt like I HAD to have. But I do have a lottttt of aversions to stuff right now so as an already picky eater it is limiting me some lol

Anything make you queasy or sick? Smells!!! Esp anything BBQ related. But smells in general are the worst right now.

Gender prediction: Not so much as a prediction but a want lol I would very much like a girl but am obviously fine if Baby Bennett is a boy. Just going to have to sit back and wait to see (sadly foreverrrrr since we found out we were expecting so early) :)

Labor signs: Nope!

Symptoms: I get tired easily and I'm nauseous every day. Length of day varies sometimes it's just when I wake up, sometimes it's all day. Its a fun game I play everyday ;)

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On & I will be quite sad if/when that changes.

Mood: I feel like I've been pleasant but maybe Sean should answer this question each week ;)

Looking forward to: baby shopping! Rhea Lana's was this week in Russellville but I skipped out because we don't know the gender. I can't wait for their fall sale when we will!

Freak-out moment of the week: No freak outs this week.

Thankful for: Our supportive family and friends. Everyone is so happy & excited for us and it's so fun! This will be the first grandbaby on Sean's side and while it's not the first on mine it isn't any less exciting :)

September Reads

So apparently I only like to write at the end of the month now & just give a list of what all I read... whoops. It's not that I don't want to write more about the books it's just I'm too busy reading them to write about them! Maybe this month will be better. It is starting to get cooler outside & I am SOOO excited about it. Anyways, here are the books I read in September.

1. Princess on the Brink by Meg Cabot
2. Princess Mia by Meg Cabot
3. Princess Forever by Meg Cabot
4. Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot
5. Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer
6. Why Not Me by Mindy Kaling
7. Loving Ellie by Lindsey Brookes
8. Speak Now: or Forever Hold Your Peace by Becky Monson
9. Georgia on My Mind by Marie Force
10. Loving Mr. Daniels by Brittainy Cherry (technically I read this yesterday which is in October, but whatever, I am including it on this list.

I finally finished the princess diaries series and it was good. I won't lie, I was able to predict EVERYTHING that happened in the last book, but that didn't make me enjoy it any less. It was a great ending, Meg Cabot basically gave you exactly what you wanted. This was nice considering most authors I read prefer to completely crush your spirit and kill all your favorite people (I'm looking at you Veronica Roth).

Between the Lines was recommended to me. It was good, but not my most favorite, mainly because the ending left me with a lot of questions. I loved Why Not Me because I LOVE Mindy Kaling.

Books 7, 8, & 9 were all little rom-com books and I enjoyed each of them. I think the order of liking them goes 8, 7, 9, but they were all good.

Loving Mr. Daniels was really good and kind of reminded me of a cross between some of my other favorite books.

According to Goodreads, I am 12 books behind schedule on my reading goal for the year. I have read 63 books so far, meaning I have 37 more to go. I am not overly worried because I still have three whole months to go & I have about 2 weeks off for Christmas, so if it gets kind of dicey I can just go into power read mode at the end of the year.

Hello September...

FALL is finally here! I am so happy! Don't get me wrong, as a kid summer was my favorite season. No school, swimming all the time, girl scout camp, etc. But now in the real world summer is not as much fun. Turns out you can't take off to go swimming or for ice cream or any other fun thing summer makes you think of. So for the past couple of years fall has steadily creeped up to being my favorite season. What makes it so great you ask?

1. SOUPS
2. Holidays (Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, My Birthday, Christmas)
3. Colder weather leading into SNOW
4. Hoodies
5. Scarves

Really I could go on & on. I am also super pumped this year because I have finished my masters degree & gotten the first week of school where I work out of the way so things can slowly start calming down for me. This weekend marks the first fall holiday: Labor Day. I am excited because Sean & I along with my sister & her family are going to visit my dad in Texas for the long weekend. This is exciting for multiple reasons (I love spending time with my family, I love mini vacations, etc.) BUT also because I get to go to my favorite book store ever: Half-Price Books! It has been years and years since I have got to visit one so I am hoping I haven't hyped it up too much in my head, but I am hoping to come away with a bunch of books!

Speaking of books, I guess I could get to the actual reasoning behind this blog and say what I've been reading lately. To recap for July & August here is what I've been reading:

1. The Selection by Kiera Cass
2. The Elite by Kiera Cass
3. The One by Kiera Cass
4. The Heir by Kiera Cass
5. Return to You by Samantha Chase
6. Pierced by Sydney Landon
7. Fractured by Sydney Landon
8. Mended by Sydney Landon
9. Kissing Frogs by Rich Amooi
10. Princess in the Spotlight by Meg Cabot
11. Princess in Love by Meg Cabot
12. Princess in Waiting by Meg Cabot
13. Princess in Pink by Meg Cabot
14. Princess in Training by Meg Cabot
15. Party Princess by Meg Cabot

So basically I have been really into series' lately. I LOVED the Selection series by Kiera Cass. The bad part about it is it's still going on so now I have to wait on the next book to come out. I hate waiting. The Princess Diaries books make me so happy. I read the first two books when I was 12 because my mom got them for me for my birthday. I know I have read the majority of them over the years but I recently decided I wanted to reread them and start at the beginning. I am on book 8 now and I think I'm starting to come on ones I haven't read before. This one is more hazy than others so I'm thinking it was probably the last one I read when I was younger. That makes me happy cause I have three more in the series after this one and its more fun when you don't know what is going to happen.

So that's what I've been up to lately. Hopefully I can start posting more frequently again soon. :)

2 Months Gone

Oh my goodness. Let's just take a moment to realize that I have not posted on this blog in TWO months. As if that is not bad enough that is about how long it has been since I have read as well. Sadness all around. At last check I had gotten down to only being 3 books behind schedule according to goodreads, I am now 14 books behind. More sadness.

The good news is I actually read a ton of books in May and just never had time to post them. I got promoted at work in June, hence the disappearance from the blog & reading. BUT I am finally starting to feel like I can breathe again. I still probably won't be able to read much until August because I am in my FINAL semester (summer term so it is only 5 weeks) of graduate school! In less than a month I will have my Master's degree and will be done with school FOREVER (maybe)!

So now that all that is out there, here are all the books I read in May and one that I read in June!

1.  Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
2. Pretties by Scott Westerfeld
3. Specials by Scott Westerfeld
4. Looking for Alaska by John Green
5. Mr. Kiss and Tell by Rob Thomas
6. The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
7. An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
8. I Was Here by Gayle Forman
9. The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen
10. The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau

Man. Those were some good books. I got to read a lot by some of my favorite authors (Sarah Dessen, Gayle Forman, and John Green). So far I think Looking for Alaska is my favorite John Green novel.

I have the Selection by Kiera Cass checked out from the library and I am so pumped because I have had a hold on it since March or April. I have heard a lot of good things about the series so I am hoping to really like it. See y'all next month probably! :)
